About Me

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Doctor's of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from The Cumberland School of Law (Samford University), Moot Court winner, passed the bars of both Alabama and Georgia in 1988, on the first try, and have practiced continuously and in good standing since.
I have enjoyed a successful practice and trial record, thanks to clients that are, amazingly, never at fault.
Several insurance carriers, individuals, and small to medium companies come to me for advice on legal issues, which get more and more complex daily. There are now over 36,000 federal regulations with new ones being added as you read this. One author has determined that it is now impossible to live without breaking some law. We study your issue, advise you and, where warranted, try the cases.
Over the last three decades I have also enjoyed training and education in Constitutional issues not normally experienced by most lawyers. And I have had the opportunity to address several groups on Constitutional issues. The response is always quite appreciative - people just do not know this stuff, and they need to.

THE CONSTITUTIONAL PRESENTATION

It is astounding what most people do not know about our brilliant Constitution. Not mere historical trivia, an understanding of our Constitution is necessary to this Country's effectiveness. The Founders depended upon us understanding its basic principles (see Jefferson quote on the Home page for an example). So what is the big deal? Isn't it just some lofty principles written by dead, prejudiced, white guys? If you think so, there is a lot you will love to know, and you will come away understanding that there are solutions, they are proven, and they're not so hard. The crises-level trauma we see in the media everyday is not a search for solutions but instead a power struggle by interests that depend on you not knowing how things are supposed to work.
You actually have a duty to hear and understand these things. It is a critical requirement in this country, like voting or jury duty.

This is not a dry speech about supremacy clauses and in rem jurisdiction. It is interactive, with approachable principles, and you will understand the answers to such things as "Why can't Congress get over the gridlock?" or "Why do so many national issues depend upon what one unelected Judge says?" or "What can we actually do about our latest 'fiscal cliff'?" or "What about term limits?" or "Why does the Constitution not expect a balanced budget?" or "How does Walmart get away with that?" and of course that "Wall of Separation" Jefferson wrote about.
Is is not investment or tax advice, but you will end up with some general investment principles.

The presentation is not partisan or political. It can go from 20 minutes to several hours and is suitable for most age groups, churches, social clubs, educational institutions and classrooms. References are available. It is free, but please consider covering travel expenses.
It includes some religion and philosophy since our entire structure of government was based on it, but it is non-denominational and should not offend anyone. It can include a portion on apologetics and free enterprise, since those are other neglected topics necessary to an understanding of our Constitution.
Your group needs to hear this and will love it. But more importantly, our Country needs your group to know these things. Everyone is counting on you, even if they do not know it yet.
